About Kent

Kent Sterling does not write from his basement because his house sits on a slab.  He occasionally indulges his impulse to write in his underwear, but not regularly.  He has worked in Chicago and Indianapolis radio, and built 1070 – The Fan into Indianapolis top sportstalk radio station.  Kent owns the Cubs hat that Andy Pafko wore while singing during the Seventh Inning Stretch at Wrigley Field in 2006, and a Fender Stratocaster that he does not know how to play.

This site celebrates critical thinking and intolerance for the morally challenged of sports and entertainment (as though those two are different at all).  Those who live to the fullest are celebrated, and those who count mediocrity as a gift are skewered.  Fast food delivered slowly is exposed, and great food delivered with relish (the adjective describing joy, not the condiment) is saluted.  Music played angrily is applauded, and rock played by flaccid poseurs is harangued.

This site is a primer for those who haven’t yet formed their final opinions about sports, service, music, and all else that either pleases or annoys.  Kent gives you informed insight on how teams, players, and management let you down, and how so many get it right.
